We’re a couple of days away from the OnePlus 6 launch event, which is scheduled for May 16 in London. We already have a pretty good idea of what we can expect from the upcoming flagship killer, thanks to the leaks and rumours. However, the latest leak from Amazon Germany ahead of the official launch points out the handset design in the flesh. It shows the OnePlus 6 in Midnight Black and Mirror Black, and as you can see the faint notch cut out at the top of the front glass, small bezel below the display and metal frame around the sides.
On the rear, the phone having a vertical dual-lens camera, LED flash, fingerprint sensor, and finally the OnePlus logo alongside “designed by OnePlus” motto on the bottom. The rest of the back portion is very clean and spotted with two different finishes called Mirror and Matte which means the handset will likely be launching in Midnight White, Midnight Black, and Mirror Black, in addition to the Avengers Edition that is said to feature Kevlar finish.
OnePlus 6 has been tipped to have a 6.28-inch screen that’s bigger than both the Galaxy S9 Plus and G7 ThinQ. There are also few confirmed internal specs from the OnePlus CEO that include a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. As you can expect, a cheaper version with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage also in tow.
And while previous rumours point to Android 8.1 Oreo onboard, we now know that Google and OnePlus will enable the Android P beta on this phone right away. Amazon listing also reveals the water-resistant body, but it isn’t clear if it will be just nano coating as promised by the company earlier or it will have particular IP certification.
Recently leaked OnePlus 6’s spec list reveals it might have a dual-lens f/1.7 camera on the back, with 20MP and 16MP sensors. Meanwhile, the front-facing camera is expected to feature 16MP sensor with some AI capabilities. It looks like the device will get an OIS, Portrait mode, Super slo-mo mode and you’ll be able to focus the object with the alert slider. The leaked spec list also shows a 3,350mAh battery, similar to the OnePlus 5T.
It’s worth noting that most of the specs match with the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition, which makes sense, since OnePlus phones are often similar to Oppo’s flagship ones, as the two companies are associated.
Apart from the press renders, the Amazon listing also hinted about the OnePlus 6 pricing. The 64GB version in Midnight Black will be priced at €519 (approx. $620 / ₹42,000), while the 128GB Mirror Black version will cost €569 (approx. US$ 680 / ₹46,000). Meanwhile, the 5T starts at €499 ($499 / ₹32,999). We have expected a lower price for OnePlus 6 in India and USA compared to Europe, though it’s not speculation.
No pricing details have been revealed for the confirmed 256GB variant or the Avengers Infinity War Edition that’s supposed to launch in India on May 17.
