Nubia has announced the launch of its new mid-range smartphone in China, the Z18 mini. Last year’s Z17 mini offered a solid design and most interesting specs for the slightly cheaper price tag. Now, the company is back with the Nubia Z18 mini.
Apart from the fact that Nubia’s new handset is packed in brand new 18:9 aspect ratio, the general design language seems unchanged for the most part. On the front, we have the 5.7-inch FHD+ display with minimal bezels to the sides as well as the top and bottom. The Z18 mini is powered by Snapdragon 660 processor which is combined with the AIE Artificial Intelligence Chip and also company’s NeoSmart AI engine. The phone has a 6GB of RAM along with 64GB/128GB of storage.
One of the key selling points of the Nubia Z18 mini is its rear camera, which features a dual 24MP and 5MP setup with a f/1.7 aperture and CAF hybrid focus. The dual-lens camera means that the Z18 mini supports bokeh effect. The Nubia Z18 mini is also geared towards selfie enthusiasts with an 8MP front shooter that equipped with 80° wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. The device is one of the first Nubia smartphones to bring Android 8.1 Oreo with the latest version of nubia UI.
The Nubia Z18 mini sports a glossy back with Aluminum alloy frame that comes in four colours: Black, White, Blue and Pink. It features a 3,450mAh battery, TAS2555 smart Amplifier, DTS Headphone: X with a dedicated voice button and has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Nubia Z18 mini 6GB + 64GB variant will be available for 1799 Yuan or around $285 while the 6GB + 128GB will retail for 2099 Yuan or around $335. And the Limited Provence Edition in Purple colour – 6GB + 128GB – will set you back 2199 Yuan, around $350.
