In addition to the new Redmi Note series phones, Xiaomi is also bringing the Android-powered Mi LED Smart TV 4 to India, which features a 55″ 4K HDR frameless display for superior picture quality. The Mi LED Smart TV 4 is the world’s thinnest TV with a 4.9mm razor-thin aluminium alloy frame and it also has a brushed metal back for a premium look and feel.
The Mi LED Smart TV 4 is powered by the 1.8GHz quad-core Amlogic Cortex A53 processor with 2GB of DDR4 RAM and 8GB (eMMC 5.1) of internal storage. It supports both Dolby and DTS HD audio decoding, and you’ll get the 11-button remote thrown in that also has Bluetooth connectivity. The company has further added 2 x 8 W speakers to this already impressive ultra-thin Smart TV.
The Mi LED TV 4 isn’t your normal Smart TV though; it combines Smart TV and STB experience seamlessly with a dedicated accessory called Mi IR Cable (Sold separately). With 360-degree Infrared (IR) coverage, the Mi IR cable wirelessly connects to the set-top-box to bring personalized recommendations, most watched channels and other content related stuff right on the homepage.
The Mi LED Smart TV 4 runs Xiaomi’s latest version of MIUI TV operating system with PatchWall, which is based on deep learning A.I. technology that can curate content based on recommendations. The Mi LED Smart TV 4 also comes with usual set of connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz/5GHz), 1 x S/PDIF out, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, 3 x HDMI 2.0 (1 contain ARC), 1 x AV, 1 x USB 2.0 x 1, 1 x USB 3.0 and 1 x Ethernet port.
The Mi LED Smart TV 4 also comes with 500,000+ hours of content and almost 80% of all content will be free to watch. Xiaomi says a load of additional content available to watch from providers including Hotstar, Voot, Sony LIV, Hungama Play, SunNxt, ZEE 5, ALT Balaji, Viu, TVF, FlickStree and others.
The Mi LED Smart TV 4 will retail for INR 39999, while the Mi IR Cable Set-top box (STB) Controller can also be purchased separately for INR 149 (Original price INR 299). These new products will be available in India through Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home stores starting from February 22. At just INR 39999 – the equivalent of $620 – the Mi LED Smart TV 4 is a highly affordable and ridiculously big 4K HDR TV.
To grab consumers’ attention, Xiaomi is tied up with Sony LIV, and Hungama Play for Mi LED Smart TV 4 – offering three months free subscription worth of INR 619. You can also get Mi IR cable as well as on-site installation worth of INR 1099 for free. All these aforementioned offers only available to customers for a limited period (first three months only).
