OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS 5.0 update based on Android 8.0 Oreo for OnePlus 3 and 3T. The major update clocks in at 1.49GB and includes the vanilla Oreo upgrade enhancements, as well as September’s security patch. The update also comes with Parallel Apps feature that lets you log in to multiple accounts of social networking or game apps at the same time on one device, although this has been available on OnePlus 5T out of the box and should be rolling out for other OnePlus devices soon. Here are some of the highlights of OxygenOS 5.0 update.

System:

  • Update to Android O (8.0)
  • Added Parallel Apps
  • Added Picture in Picture
  • Added Auto-fill
  • Added Smart text selection
  • New Quick Settings design
  • Updated security patch to September

Launcher:

  • Added notification dots
  • New app folder design
  • Now able to upload photos directly to Shot on OnePlus

While the OTA update is currently incremental rollout, means that it will reach a small percentage of users today, and its arrival should pave the way for a broader rollout in a few days. OnePlus had previously promised that the OnePlus 5 and 5T would be upgraded to Oreo from early 2018.
