At October 4 event, Google has unveiled its all-new Pixelbook running on Chrome OS. This is the Google’s engineering marvel, which was designed to showcase the strong abilities of Google’s design team. The Pixelbook comes with premium hardware, Aluminum unibody and Pixelbook Pen support. The latest Chromebook is the thinnest and lightest laptop from Google as it measures just 10.3mm thin and weighs in at 1.1 kilograms.

The Google Pixelbook has a 4-in-1 design, so you can use it as a laptop, or easily watch your favourite show in tablet, or in tent mode. It comes with a 12.3-inch high-resolution Quad HD LCD (2400×1600 pixels, 235 ppi) display in a variety of configurations including 7th Gen Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of Solid state drive storage. Unlike other Chromebook models, the Pixelbook has no missing corners here. As specs wise, we are talking about a Chromebook, which is comparable to the premium Windows laptops.

The keyboard now has soft-touch keys and a backlit design that helps you work under darker environments as well. In addition, the trackpad uses unique touch-processing algorithms to make sure you can navigate with accuracy. The Pixelbook promised to deliver up to 10 hours of battery life, and it also supports fast charging that can offer 2 hours of use with just 15 minutes of charge but you should use a bundled 45W adapter from the USB-C charging port. Surprisingly, the 45W charger also works with latest Pixel phones, so one charger for two devices if you are planning to heavily invest in the Google hardware business.

Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL officially launched

Pixelbook is the first laptop with the Google Assistant built-in. Google has gone away ahead and included a dedicated Google Assistant Key on the keyboard. It will let you access to your music and entertainment and also allows you to control your smart home products without typing. Google Assistant can also analyze what’s on the screen and provide you suggestions, which is again powered by Google’s Machine Learning algorithms. The device runs on latest version of Chrome OS, and you can even download your favourite apps from Google Play, so you don’t need to switch between your laptop and your smartphone. It seems Google is confident on running Play Store apps on your Pixelbook without any type of compatibility issues.

Google also introduced Pixelbook Pen alongside Pixelbook, which is a smart, responsive stylus powered by WACOM. It comes with low-latency of 10 milliseconds that gives you a natural and comfortable feeling when you are sketching and writing on the Pixelbook in tablet mode. It is also offering handwriting recognition that you can use to take notes from the lock screen with Google Keep or draw with Infinite Painter and more. A button built-in to the Pixelbook Pen will let you circle text or images on the screen to get more information or allow you to take action on it.

Google Home Mini and Max Smart Speakers announced

Pixel Buds:

Google is the newcomer into the wireless world after the grand entry of Apple. The company has removed the headphone jack from the Pixel 2 devices and introduced a new wireless headset called Pixel Buds. The name is somewhat funny to hear, but the product seems very attractive. They are small wireless earbuds with a tangle-free wire to surround your neck when using them, and they come with a charging box, which will allow you to charge your Pixel Buds up to 4 times. I know you are more curious about the battery life between charges, the Pixel Buds alone will last 5 hours on a single charge, which is not bad. In many ways, they are a direct competitor to Apple’s AirPods. So, they also cost you same, $159 in the US.

However, one area where Pixel Buds shine is a seamless integration of Google Assistant. It supports language translation out of the box. Two different persons can interact in different languages at a time without any interruption. Pixel buds will take care of the heavy life. It will automatically translate the other guy’s voice to your language. As of now, Google supports 40 different languages.
