It’s ASUS’s habit that it will launch bulk amount of products at trade shows and IFA 2017 is no exception for that, and it’s indeed a good thing to see a variety of products from ASUS, which will serve much more tailored experience to its customers. Earlier today, ASUS has announced ZenBook Flip 14, ZenBook Flip 15 and Windows Mixed Reality Headset at The Edge of Beyond press event at IFA 2017 in Berlin. We are really excited about these products. Let’s find out.
Start with the ZenBook Flip 14 (UX461), ASUS, the popular Taiwanese electronics maker, has claimed it as the world’s thinnest 2-in-1 laptop with high-performance discrete graphics. The ZenBook Flip 14 features a 14-inch NanoEdge Full HD display with 360°-flappable touchscreen and ASUS Pen support. Under the hood, the device is powered by Intel 8th Generation Core i7 quad-core processor, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics, a 512GB PCIe x4 SSD, and a Harman Kardon audio system.
ZenBook Flip 14 runs on Windows 10 and is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor for quick and secure one-touch login with Windows Hello. Weighing just 1.4kg, the ultraslim convertible comes with 13.9mm thin metal body and up to 13 hours of battery life. ZenBook Flip 14 will be available in Icicle Gold and Slate Grey colour options.
Meanwhile, the ZenBook Flip 15 (UX561) is a perfect 2-in-1 laptop for design and creative work. It’s stunning 360°-rotatable 15.6-inch NanoEdge display (available in 4K UHD or Full HD resolution) has 178° wide-view technology and precision-stylus support. ASUS says ZenBook Flip 15 is the most powerful ZenBook Flip ever, featuring the Intel 8th Generation Core i7 processor, 2TB HDD, 512GB SSD, NVIDIA GTX1050 graphics and up to 16GB DDR4 RAM support. Additionally, ZenBook Flip 15 boasts USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 support and a powerful quad-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. ZenBook Flip 15 will be available in Smoky Grey and Pure Silver colour options.
ASUS Windows Mixed Reality Headset (HC102) built upon revolutionary Microsoft VR technology to bring immersive real-world and virtual experiences to users. The headset features innovative inside-out tracking with two built-in front-facing tracking cameras, which supports six-degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) position tracking. To put it in simple words, it doesn’t need external sensors or additional software to run. The VR headset is constructed from premium antibacterial cushioned lightweight materials thus making it less than 400 grams overall weight. Moreover, the Windows Mixed Reality Headset’s beautiful design comes with a pattern of hundreds of 3D polygons as well as a glossy tone-on-tone effect and the balanced-crown design that reduces pressure on the nose and face, letting users comfortable to wear for extended periods.
Jumping back to laptop segment, ASUS has also announced VivoBook S14, a 14-inch thin-and-light convertible laptop with a NanoEdge design that has a slim 7.8mm bezel and 74.3% screen-to-body ratio. VivoBook S14 is powered by the Intel 8th Generation Core i7-8550U processor with up to 16GB DDR4 memory and NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics. VivoBook S14 is only 18.8mm thin and weighs just 1.3kg. The company even updated its existing ZenBook and VivoBook lineup that includes ZenBook Flip S (UX370), ZenBook 13 (UX331), ZenBook 3 Deluxe (UX490), and VivoBook Flip 14 (TP401).
In addition to the above products, ASUS also introduced a new lineup of networking products and monitors, including RT-AC86U, AC2900-class Wi-Fi router that offers extreme speeds and wide coverage and RT-AX88U, the first ASUS router with next-generation Wi-Fi 802.11ax for speeds of up to 5952Mbps. ASUS also showcased 37.5-inch Designo Curve MX38VC and 31.5-inch Designo Curve MX32VQ wide monitors with edge-to-edge frameless curved IPS panels alongside beautiful design.
