Smartwatch segment may not be as crazy as it was before but it didn’t stop Samsung to bring its latest Gear S3 classic and Gear S3 frontier models to the Indian market. The South Korean giant is asking INR 28500 for these newest smartwatch models, which will go on sale starting January 18th.
The Gear S3 class and frontier editions were launched back at IFA 2016 in September 2016. These models come with 1.3-inch Circular Super AMOLED display with 360 x 360 pixels resolution. Samsung has also blessed it with Always-On feature and Corning Gorilla Glass SR+ protection, which is specially designed for smartwatches. In a typical Samsung’s fashion, Gear S3 comes with a rotating bezel to interact with UI and launch apps. We found it very intuitive and easy to use.
Both models offer NFC, built-in speakers, GPS, IP68 Water/Dust resistance. However, classic model is meant for classic smartwatch buyers, and the frontier model is for the people who loves rugged look. Moreover, it offers LTE connectivity. It runs Tizen OS based wearable-centric UI 2.3.2. Classic model measures 46 x 49 x 12.9 and weighs in at 57g (sans band) while frontier model measures 46 x 49 x 12.9 and weighs in at 62g (sans band).
