Catch full details below.
Predator 21 X:
Acer has taken a crazy path to set the benchmark in gaming laptops with Predator 21 X. The company said it offers 21-inch Curved screen with NVIDIA G-SYNC. The laptop is powered by Intel Core i7-7820HK processor. There are two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 dedicated graphics cards in SLI, so all the available AAA titles will run buttery smooth without breaking a sweat. It features most advanced cooling system in any laptop with five cooling fans, nine heat pipes with Acer’s custom designed Dust Defender. For gaming on it, there is a full-sized mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches, which are individually programmable and backlight enabled with the support of 16.7 million color options. The colors can be adjustable using the pre-loaded proprietary software.
On the connectivity front, Predator 21 X comes with the solid port selection, which never leaves you behind even in this Type-C era. The USB-C is Thunderbolt 3 enabled, so you can achieve data speeds of up to 40Gbps, just like new MacBook Pro. Acer has realized that sound is as important as GPUs for a gaming laptop, so you have got the 3-way audio design for Hi-Fi quality sound. It offers four speakers (2 x Tweeter + 2 x Midrange) as well as 2 Subwoofers. Acer has included Windows Hello functionality for the webcam, so login is an easy affair. Finally, it runs Windows 10 out of the box and comes with Xsplit Gamecaster software for seamless video record, edit, and live stream on YouTube or Twitch.
Acer Predator 21 X cannot be imagined with a regular price tag as you are getting insanely powerful two NVIDIA GTX 1080 GPUs, so Acer is asking $8999 for this laptop in the US, where people can buy it sometime in February. Meanwhile, Acer is planning to sell Predator 21 X in EMEA region in February with starting price of €9,999.
Acer Chromebook 11 N7:
Acer had also announced Chromebook 11 N7 at CES 2017. It was designed with students in mind. As a result, Chromebook 11 N7 has got a durable outer shell, which meets US MIL-STD 810G military grade to handle accidental drops of up to 48 inches (122cm). The laptop can handle up to 132 pounds of downward force on top cover. Acer also included reinforced case to handle high pressure when students cram them into their backpacks. The top cover features unique grip to prevent slipping laptop out of students’ hands. The keyboard comes with a spill-resistant coating, which can handle water spills of up to 11 fluid ounces (330ml).
Acer implemented a brand new gutter system under the keyboard and touchpad to drain water to prevent any hardware damage. The Intel Celeron processor has allowed N7 to run without the need of a cooling fan. It comes with 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 pixels IPS Touchscreen display, 4GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB native storage, SD card reader, 3.5mm headphone jack. The laptop runs Chrome OS for now, but Acer promised to bring Google Play Store support in future.
