We have already published Top 10 smartphones under INR 10K. Now, we are back with another treat for you guys. This time, we are trying to unfold the crowded INR 10K to INR 20K segment. This particular segment became tough for us to sort out a list since there is a humongous list of devices. It seems all the companies had targeted mid-range segment to squeeze out as much profits as possible. Here is WhatsOnTech’s Top 10 smartphones list that costs between INR 10K to INR 20K in 2016 (~ US $150-$300).
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3:
Xiaomi is killing the smartphone competition in India with its highly competitive prices. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (2GB RAM model) was the top smartphone in our list under INR 10K. However, the high-speced 32GB model easily secured a spot on this list. It offers beautiful aluminum unibody design; 5.5-inch decently calibrated Full HD IPS display, much powerful Snapdragon 650 SoC, 3GB RAM and well performing 16MP rear sensor with 5MP Selfie shooter as well. Xiaomi is good with frequent software updates, and Redmi Note 3 will be getting Nougat in 2017. Eventually, that monster 4050mAh battery is there to provide great longevity. What else we can expect for INR 11999? Go and get it or wait for Redmi Note 4 and Note 4X, which are coming in early 2017.
Lenovo Z2 Plus:
If you can stretch your budget all the up to INR 19999, you can get a solid smartphone with flagship specs; we are talking about Lenovo Z2 Plus. Surprisingly, it’s the only compact smartphone available in this segment. The device offers 5-inch Full HD IPS display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM, U Touch 2.0 fingerprint sensor. Lenovo used to launch this series under ZUK brand, but for some reason, they ditched ZUK branding with Z2 Plus and called it simply Lenovo Z2 Plus. Moreover, there is no Cyanogen, so Lenovo shipped it with Google Now Launcher, so all good here. You also have 3500mAh battery and get 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage for 17999 while 4GB RAM + 64GB variant for INR 19999. If you are looking for a compact powerhouse, this could perfectly fit your needs.
Moto G4 Plus:
Lenovo announced adequately re-designed Moto G4 Plus. You can get 5.5-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617 Octa-core SoC, 3GB RAM, and 32GB RAM but you can go as high as 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (This model is exclusive to few countries only). The Moto G4 Plus (32GB + 3GB RAM model) has been priced at INR 13999. We particularly don’t recommend the 2GB RAM + 16GB memory, which is priced at INR 12499 because it couldn’t keep up with even slightly processor intensive tasks. We would suggest you go with 3GB RAM + 32GB model if you are flexible with your budget (For users in India only). The strongest asset of the device is the buttery smooth software. Lenovo-owned Motorola always pushes the new software updates much quicker than other OEMs in this list. On the downside, you need to sacrifice the unibody aluminum design if you want to go with G4 Plus.
Mi Max Prime:
Mi Max Prime is the only option for the people who love gigantic displays. It would be the perfect fit for consuming media. The Prime model offers Snapdragon 652 Octa-core SoC, 4GB RAM, and 128GB storage. Additionally, it offers 6.44-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution, 16MP rear shooter, and 5MP front shooter. There is a huge 4850mAh battery to keep the lights ON. The 3GB RAM + 32GB model (Mi Max) will set you back at INR 14999 while the 4GB RAM + 128GB model will cost you INR 19999. However, you can buy 3GB model from Amazon India, Flipkart as well as Mi India store, but you can buy 4GB model only from Mi India online store. SKU choice should be yours according to your budget.
LeEco LeMax 2:
Finally, LeEco made its way into this list with LeMax 2. The 5.7-inch device has got WQHD (2k) display and unibody aluminum shell. Under the hood, LeEco blessed it with super-powerful Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM, and 32GB storage. Furthermore, users get 21MP rear shooter and 8MP front shooter. It has packed 3100mAh battery for your daily needs. As expected, you have to settle down with rather buggy software. The device will set you back at INR 17999 on Amazon India.
Coolpad Cool1 Dual:
Coolpad Cool1 Dual is one of the finest smartphones in this list. This is the first device after LeEco’s acquisition of Coolpad. The smartphone offers 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 652 SoC, 13MP dual rear cameras and 8MP selfie shooter, 4000mAh battery. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with eUI on top and packs 4000mAh battery. The same confusing and sluggish UI is back to irritate. It is available in two variants – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage as well as 4GB RAM + 32GB storage but surprisingly, both are priced at INR 13999 only. The 4GB model is only available online, so the company could reduce the final retail price that eventually matched to 3GB RAM model.
Samsung Galaxy On Nxt:
We had to decide between the Galaxy On Nxt and Galaxy On8 while prepping this list. Both shared the similar specs, but the On Nxt offers slightly better value for money. It has got generic Samsung design with 5.5-inch Full HD display, Exynos 7870 Octa-core SoC, 13MP rear camera and 8MP front shooter, 3300mAh battery. There is 32GB native storage with microSD slot that supports up to 256GB. It has been priced at 16900. You can comfortably buy it since Samsung provides far better after sales support than any other OEM in this list.
Lenovo Moto M:
Lenovo Moto M is the company’s first full metal unibody smartphone under Moto series. It offers 5.5-inch IPS Full HD display, Helio P15 SoC, Mali-T860MP2 GPU, 3GB RAM or 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB storage. There is microSD slot for up to 256GB storage. The rear camera houses 16MP sensor, and the Selfie shooter has got the 8MP sensor. It packs 3050mAh battery. Just like any other Moto device, it offers best-in-class performance for the price you are paying. The handset will set you back at INR 15999 for 3GB + 32GB model while INR 17999 for 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
Oppo F1S packs rather poor specifications in terms of display department as it houses 5.5-inch HD IPS display. However, the other specs are impressive enough like beautiful design, MediaTek MTK6755, Mali-T860MP2, 3GB RAM/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB storage. Oppo always shines in the camera department, and F1S is no exception. It packs 13MP f/2.2 aperture rear sensor and 16MP f/2.0 front shooter. The device houses 3075mAh battery under the hood. Oppo F1S will cost you INR 18990 for 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM model. Meanwhile, the another variant with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage has been priced at INR 16990.
Lenovo K6 Note:
Lenovo K6 Note is a rather controversial smartphone since it packs Snapdragon 430 SoC, which is utterly underpowered SoC when you compared to other smartphones in this list, which powered by flagship grade Snapdragon 820 SoC. Additionally, the device has got 5.5-inch IPS Full HD display, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB storage, 16MP primary camera and 8MP front shooter. However, there is the whopping 4000mAh battery for marathon screen on times. There is rear-mounted fingerprint sensor to unlock the device securely. It also got unibody aluminum chassis. The Lenovo K6 Note 3GB RAM model has been priced at INR 13999, while the 4GB RAM variant will set you back at INR 15499.
