Asus has eventually launched ZenWatch 3 in India, which was initially unveiled at IFA 2016 earlier this year. Unlike its predecessors, Asus has gone with a circular design for a seamless look. It runs Android Wear out of the box, and the body has been crafted from jewelry-grade 316L stainless steel. The Watch has 1.3-inch AMOLED display with 400 x 400 pixels resolution.
Interestingly, it’s one of the very few smartwatches which utilized Qualcomm’s watch-centric Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC. The chipset has been paired with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of eMMC storage. Users can pair the device with any Android device running 4.3 (or higher) or iOS device (may be iOS 8 or higher). As expected, it’s an IP67 water and dust resistant. Moreover, the enclosure packs WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 + LE for connectivity. The Bluetooth is helpful to sync data with the phone via ZenFit app. Asus has packed 340mAh battery inside the shell that supports HyperCharge technology to get up to 60% of the battery just with 15 minutes of charge. There is an optional Watch stand, which is also capable of charging the ZenWatch 3 up to 40%.
Just like other smartwatches, the Asus ZenWatch 3 also supports interchangeable straps. Users need to utilize three button mechanism to interchange the strap quickly. The Rubber Strap model of ZenWatch 3 is currently priced in India at INR 17599 while the leather strap variant will set you back INR 18999.
