Acer today took the wraps off of its new lineup of Android running mobile devices at IFA 16, Berlin. The new devices including Iconia Talk S (A1-734) Phablet and two new smartphones under Liquid Z6 series. Let’s start with Phablet followed by Z6 series phones.
The Iconia Talk S is designed for those who are looking for a big screen entertainment with affordable price tag. In terms of specifications, Iconia Talk S offers a 7-inch HD 1280×720 display along with dual SIM support and 4G LTE connectivity (Voice Calling on 3G) for fast downloads and streaming. The device boasts an anti-slip finish that enables a firmer, more secure grip to help avoid accidental drops. Acer Iconia Talk S is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad-core MediaTek (MT8735) 64-bit processor with Mali-T720 GPU for smoother & seamless gaming experience.
It is a tough competitor for the recently launched Samsung Galaxy J Max. Moreover, it comes with slightly beefed up specs like 2GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. Iconia Talk S supports 128GB expandable storage using a separate microSD card slot. The Phablet is backed by a 3400mAh battery that enables one full day media playback. On the camera front, you have a 13-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front shooter for selfies. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with slightly customized user interface top of it. Iconia Talk S has a built-in mono speaker with DTS-HD Premium Sound to enhance the audio capability.
The Liquid Z6 and Z6 Plus are two new additions to Acer’s 4G enabled smartphone portfolio. The Z6 and Z6 Plus comes with a 5-inch and 5.5-inch Full HD IPS (2.5D) displays, respectively. The Liquid Z6 features a 1.3GHz Quad-core MediaTek (MT6737) processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, while the Liquid Z6 Plus is powered by 1.3GHz Octa-core MediaTek (MT6753) processor, 32GB of ROM and has 3GB RAM for smoother multitasking.
The Z6 Plus sports an premium metal back casing. Just like the Iconia Talk S, the two Liquid Z6 series smartphones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The Liquid Z6 has a battery capacity of 2000mAh, whereas the Z6 Plus packs massive 4080mAh battery. In addition, the Liquid Z6 Plus provides biometric authentication with a fingerprint scanner for secure and convenient access. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
Moreover, the entry-level Z6 has an 8-megapixel primary camera as well as 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Meanwhile, the mid-range Z6 Plus boasts 13-megapixel rear and 5MP front cameras to capture high-quality images and videos in sharp detail.
Acer will begin sales of the Iconia Talk S, Liquid Z6, and Liquid Z6 Plus in EMEA region starting from November 2016. Pricing will be set at €169 for Iconia Talk S, €119 for Liquid Z6 and €249 for the Liquid Z6 Plus.
