Xplova, a subsidiary of Acer, is a manufacturer of premium outdoor cycling computers, has unveiled the new X5 cycling computer for Cycling enthusiasts at [email protected] NYC event. The Xplova X5 is the first cycling computer to come with video recording capabilities and aimed at growing enthusiast market with the focus on cycling club captains, media, event organizers and other members of the community.
The cycling computer comes equipped with a wide-angle camera to record great moments while traveling on the road. Besides, the Intelligent algorithms on Xplova X5 let cyclists automatically capture 3-second video clips of the scenery based on pre-determined parameters such as speed, heart rate, GPS coordinates and among other points of interest. It has Transflective Color Display, supports ANT+ and claims to deliver 16+ hours of Battery Life.
The video recording can be triggered manually, and consumers can pick and edit up to 8 clips into a single video, which can also be uploaded to social media for friends and followers to share the moment. In addition to the X5, the company also launched Xplova Moment app for casual cyclists. Check out the app features at a glance.

- Challenge me: Go head-to-head against the best saved times. Acts as a virtual challenger who pushes riders to improve their lap times from past routes.
The Xplova X5 cycling computer features Smart Sign Guidance, which syncs and stores riders favorite routes on the cloud (Xplova.com). The Smart Sign Guidance also works with the Moment App by Xplova, and users also able to download maps from around the world shared by other community members of the Xplova.
The X5 acts as a live dashboard that displays a rider’s performance data in real-time, including heart rate, cycling speed, strength gauge, cadence, and more. There is also Chart View is available for more detailed graphical analysis and to compare, heart rate, speed, power output, distance, gear position, and trip duration. On the other hand, the Live GPS tracking is an another great feature for cyclists to control tabs on the team, while still pursuing individual or pack challenges. Thanks to its IPX7 water-resistance, the cyclists can now rest assured knowing that the Xplova X5 remains protected and functional in any kind of weather condition, and lets users always keep the Live Dashboard on screen and guiding the way, even on the rainy day.
Sadly, there’s no word on the pricing of Xplova X5, but it will be available in Q3, 2016.
