The Taiwanese manufacturer Acer has expanded Aspire Notebook range with powerful and stylish models at recently held [email protected] New York event. The company also launched brand new Ultra-slim ‘S’ series, the Aspire S 13 notebook along with Chromebook 14 for Work, and Switch Alpha 12 Liquid-Cooled 2-in-1 notebook. In addition, Acer showcased newly refreshed Predator Gaming Line with VR Ready Desktops and Notebooks.
Aspire R 15, Aspire F 15 and Aspire E Series:
Starting with the Notebooks, Acer’s new machines falls in Aspire range including Aspire R 15, Aspire F 15, Aspire ES 15 and Aspire E Series, which run on Windows 10 out of the box. The Aspire R 15 is a convertible notebook and is powered by 6th gen Intel Core processor. It also features up to 12GB DDR4 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 940MX Graphics Card and a reversible USB Type-C 3.1 port. The Aspire R15 sports IPS display and new Acer color intelligence tech. It also comes with the audio capabilities such as Audio-wise, Acer TrueHarmony and Dolby Audio, which provides a truly immersive audio experience by automatically reversing audio channels according to the device orientation and mode of the device.
The Aspire R 15 boasts a hairline brush finish, and the bottom portion is made up of 40% glass fiber & silver particles. The newly embedded Acer ExoAmp Antenna technology allows faster connectivity with an optimized antenna position, it avoids system noise and provides a reliable, smooth, and stable wireless experience through its metal cover. Moreover, users benefit from 2×2 MU-MIMO wireless connectivity. It offers extended battery life of up to 9 hours. As said by the company, the Diamond-cut edges on the machine complement the 360-degree flexibility of the Aspire R 15, which can also lay perfectly flat on a surface. The soft-closing hinge design of the machine compensates the seamless conversion between tablet, laptop, and tent modes.
Next up, the Aspire F 15 series and Aspire E 15 series features 6th gen Intel Core chipsets, USB Type-C port, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac MU-MIMO technology for blazing fast wireless connectivity. Both the Aspire F and Aspire E Series laptops buyers will be able to choose up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX950M graphics card with GDDR5 VRAM, and DDR4 RAM. The Acer ExaColor display technology is bringing out rich and vivid details, while Acer BluelightShield technology will allow users to adjust the screen’s blue light emission for extensive use. Additionally, Acer’s TrueHarmony tech provides immersive and pure audio.
The new Aspire F and E series come equipped with premium-finish metal covers in five colors. The F series will be available in Sparkly Silver, Obsidian Black, Indigo Blue, Wine Red, and Marble White color options. Meanwhile, the Aspire E series comes in Marble White, Steel Grey, Twilight Purple, Red Copper, Obsidian Black, Rococo Red and Indigo Blue.
Aspire ES 15:
On the other hand, the Aspire ES 15 refreshed with the latest 6th gen Intel Core processors and comes in three stylish colors: Midnight Black, Rosewood Red, and Cotton White.

The Acer Aspire R 15 will be available starting from $699 in North America in May. Also, the notebooks will be available in EMEA in May with prices starting at €799. Meanwhile, the Acer Aspire F Series will be available for purchase in North America in May with prices starting from $499 and EMEA in May with prices starting from €499 and also in China in May with prices starting at ¥4499.
The Acer Aspire E Series will also be available in North America in May with prices starting at $399, EMEA in May with prices starting at €499 and in China in April with prices starting at ¥2999.
Aspire S 13:
Moving to the Acer’s new ultra-slim S series notebook, the company call it Aspire S 13, which packs IPS LED-backlit Full HD 10-point touch display, 6th generation Intel Core processors and up to 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM. There is also 54Wh 3-cell Li-ion battery included that lasts up to 13 hours. It runs on brand new Windows 10 operating system out of the box.
On the connectivity front, the device offers USB Type-C 3.1 reversible port as well a USB 3.0 port and Wi-FI 802.11ac with 2×2 MU-MIMO (Multi-User MIMO). Switch Alpha 12 Liquid-Cooled 2-in-1 Notebook:
Talking about Acer’s Switch Alpha 12 Liquid-Cooled 2-in-1 Notebook, the device packs fanless design and also featuring Acer LiquidLoop cooling technology for noise free operations. This is the first 2-in-1 notebook to come with 6th gen Intel Core processors. It has a 12-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels which also supports Acer Active Pen (Optional) to take the advantage of Windows 10 Ink feature, which will come in the Windows 10 Anniversary Update this summer.

It also supports both 802.11ac and 802.11ad access and includes multiple ports support like DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA, and USB. The Acer Switch Alpha 12 measures 292.1 (W) x 201.4 (D) x 15.85 (H) mm (11.5 x 7.93 x 0.62 inches) and weighs 1250 grams (2.76 pounds) with keyboard connected. The tablet alone measures just 9.5mm (0.37 inches) in height and weighs 900 grams (1.98 pounds).

Acer Chromebook 14 for work:
Acer also debuted Chromebook 14 for work, and the company claims that it is a first Chromebook powered by 6th generation Intel Core processors. The Acer Chromebook 14 for Work is also world’s first notebook to feature Corning Gorilla Glass, and it has enhanced durability features such as a spill-resistant keyboard, U.S. MIL-STD 810G military standard to protect against dust, drops, temperature, and humidity. As said by the company, the spill-resistant keyboard provides protection against spills of up to 11 fluid ounces (330ml). Also, its gutter system under the touchpad and keyboard drains liquid through two drain holes to route water away from internal parts to avoid severe damage. The rugged machine has been tested to resist up to 132 pounds (60 kg) of downward force as well as drops of up to 48-inches (122 cm). Nevertheless to say, it runs on brand new Chrome OS out of the box.

Lastly, the company added new devices to its Predator gaming line, which includes a Predator 17 X notebook, new Predator Z1 series of monitors and compact Predator G1 Desktop. The Predator 17 X notebook brings overclocking and desktop grade performance to mobile gaming. It is also powered by Intel Core i7-6820HK processor coupled with the GeForce GTX 980. For the uninitiated, the GTX 980 incorporates the NVIDIA GeForce VR-Ready technology, as well as compatible with virtual reality (VR) devices from Oculus, HTC Vive, OSVR, and StarVR.
