Windows 10 update downloading

The update notified like the above image. It is about 2.71GB in size so you should have stable, faster internet connection to download this file. It may include extra charges, make sure about that before going to download it.

Together with our partners, we’re ready for a new era of Windows – we hope you’ll join us, Microsoft mentioned in a blog post.

  • john wick

how come i havent got it yet

    • Mr Noodles

Could take up to 3 weeks, but if you follow the manual download link above you can get it today 🙂

      • Edmund Shemanski

But would we be able to activate it with out a key? As far as I am concerned I was never sent one even though I reserved a copy.

        • Bill Marshall

They are rolling 10 out in batches. I haven’t received mine yet, but it should be rolled out in the coming days.

        • Sigh

You don’t get a key. It will pop up as a notification and auto-update. It isn’t reserving a copy. It’s you letting them know to send you a notification to update.

  • Darren Lewis

tried 3 variations, simply won’t run, error code each time. wont run on my phone either,.,.,

  • Wait so I need a product key? shoot.

    • Brian Dane

no you dont, it will automatically give you one, but it takes a few hours from you install it until it is getting activated.

      • Ritesh shrestha

will it also provide the key while downloading ISO file for future?

        • Joshua Li

I thought they were talking about the product key that was on whatever version of Windows that was originally on your PC? :/

      • Thanks! I’m all activated now 🙂

  • Charlie Media

You simply don’t just download an Operating System from this lot,you have to have a small window in your Taskbar to Activate the OS -Windows – 10 as your link fails 100%

    • Brian Dane

no you dont, I didnt have the icon and I upgraded today.

      • Mr Noodles

What’s it like? as good as the reviews are saying? Still downloading this end, can’t wait.

        • Bill Marshall

I have been BETA testing it for a while now, and I love it. I’m waiting to get the download and key so I can finish installing it.

      • James Rackley

Brian is correct i don’t have the little icon and i have already downloaded the 32 bit version and now downloading the 64 bit version.

  • Asuma (Scouter)

i feel they should offer upgrades to Vista users too. Yeah i know i was offered a free upgrade to 7, but at the time Vista had smoothed out it’s problems and 7 was still new and gimmicky.
Besides after having done a factory restore (you should do that every couple of years if you don’t upgrade your OS) i’d have lost 7 anyways.

Just some guy griping, ignore me

    • fapfap

If you are still on Vista, no one really cares what you think.

      • birdman_36

        Lots of people still are.

        • James Rackley

Windows Vista wont get the free upgrade you need to buy it.

      • Bill Marshall

No need to be a douche about it.

    • Corey De Agro

I’m on Windows 7, it’s smoothed its problems and 10 is still new and gimmicky.

Still going to get the free upgrade because I’m not going to pay $100 down the road because I was hesitant.

  • Aarron

im on windows 7 ive been waiting all day for it to let me download has me in a waiting list thing

    • Sean Gilmore

I believe it won’t work though the automatic upgrade until your hardware manufacturer has confirmation of working drivers. Check with the website of your manufacturer. My laptop says it probably won’t be able to update until late August :/

    • TacosAreYummy

      same thing for me dude

  • Andy

I also have not gotten it yet.

  • Erik Oleson

I, too, would like a definitive answer on how to get the product key. I tried to use my 100% legit Win8.1 key to do a clean install of Win10 and it wouldn’t accept it so I skipped that step. It it does indeed come with the key built in that would be great but I would also like to have a record of the key for future use.

    • Jim

You can’t do a clean install. Windows 10 “free” must be done as an upgrade.

  • Malcolm Owen

In windows update I keep getting a message saying Failed Error Code 802400020 can anybody tell me why

  • Dallas Willisson

i need my product key for my W7? SHIT ive had this computer/operating system my entire life lol i dont have that anymore

  • Terrance Maurer

    • R R

I loaded a beta version of Windows 10 on a separate hard drive about six weeks ago. I had the same problem with Chrome. What I did was I first deleted Chrome and then using their Edge as a browser, I went to Google’s website and downloaded Chrome again. It worked perfect afterwards. I also had to update drivers for my Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. The mouse was acting buggy until I updated the drivers. I had to use a wired mouse to be able to maneuver around before loading the new drivers. Those were the only problems I had. Windows 10 also updated itself last week and everything is quite stable. So far I like it better than Windows 8 but I plan to keep Windows 8 on a separate drive just in case.

  • Downloading it. But may wait a month to see if it takes out many users before installing it on any of the machines the mortgage depends on… 😉

  • Phil Lynx

Still waiting for mine to even arrive. Also Like Edmond stated what if you do not have a key, then what?

  • Nigel S Evans

Upgraded to Windows 10 today and all of my Wifi connections list has
disappeared. I can get online. But when I click on the Wifi icon it
doesn’t have any connections to connect to. Any clues to what this issue
    could be?

EDIT: Even the Wifi icon is not active in the pop up box when I click on the Wifi icon. I upgraded from Windows 7 and the list was always available, showing any and all possible connections before this upgrade.

    • Nick Wright

This is the problem with any O/S upgrade, – there will inevitably be drivers & programs with compatibility problems (and bugs) until they’re upgraded themselves . Wise to let all that be ironed out before using it if you can, especially if you rely on your PC for anything important.

    • James Rackley

The problem could be that your drivers need updating as well.

  • Nick Wright

I`m not using it yet. at the moment all my apps WORK. I want to keep it that way. Windows 8 was a nightmare, more bugs in it than badgerwatch, I`ll wait.

  • Aarush Shah

I have pirated version of Windows 7 what should i do..??

    • James Rackley

      Pay for it.

  • Downloded w10 but from then music and videos stopped working so any one know how and why?

  • Carlos Aguilera

hello as I get the serial to install the windows .. I do not have and not what is ..

  • PattyT64

I downloaded Windows 10 and the app box (purple box on the left side of the task bar) and the search box do not work. I click on that box and nothing happens. I know that is where the apps are as well as other things (Cortana for one) but I can’t get it to open. Is there anything I can do? I tried to reinstall 10 but hat didn’t work. I know I can uninstall it but am not sure if I do that, I will be able to install it again for free. Any suggestions?? The most important part of 10 is not working for me. My computer is still basically Win 7 (which I don’t mind that much really). I have it on my tablet and the box opens fine.
